Classical Studies builds cultural capital and helps students to become culturally engaged, culturally aware and culturally connected.
This scholarship will be awarded annually to the student who over the year’s course excels in his/her application and general progress in Classical studies.
The aim of this course is to explore the world of ancient Greece
and Rome, appreciate the achievements of the classical world and
how it continues to speak to and influence our lives today.
Candidates wishing to sit the Leaving Certificate Examination in
Classical Studies in 2021 & 2022 will be thoroughly prepared.

Taught Classical Studies at junior and senior cycle for many years and have also acted as a state assistant examiner in Classical Studies at Leaving Cert. Hons level.
Many people do not have an opportunity to explore and develop their interest in the classical world and I hope that this online study course may be a resource and guide to enable them to discover the riches of the Ancient world which I believe will be a treasure for life.
